Maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene was prepared by reactive extrusion grafting maleic anhydride onto polyethylene. Strong polar side groups were introduced into the nonpolar main chain, and maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene (mah-pe) became a bridge to improve the adhesion and compatibility between polar materials and polyethylene.
